The Woodlands Performing Arts Academy

Welcome to The Woodlands Performing Arts Academy, where we offer comprehensive music education for students from early childhood to senior adults. Our programming emphasizes healthy techniques and skills to learn music and drama in a fun way.  Under the direction of a master teacher, the academy presents the finest in music arts education. We enhance the enjoyment of the arts one student at a time!

Students learn through their experience with the academy skills such as:

• Preparing for competitions and festivals from initiation to completion,
• Learning to listen and gain musicianship through ear training and music theory, as well as telling a story through music, phrasing, dynamics, interpretation,
• Understanding music history, composers, and musical styles
• Discerning how to choose songs and materials for auditions,
• Developing decision-making ability and leadership,
• Collaboration and responsibility of working with others through chamber music.
• Vocalists will specifically work on ear training, breath control, and enunciation skills
• We fix bad habits!

Our Young Musicians Workshop and chamber music programs sponsor camps, master classes, workshops, and performances at the academy and in outreach to communities with talented students but without the necessary resources. Young students may also perform in Madrigalia in order to bolster their choral music skills. Many of our students achieve top scholarships and win major competitions from local to international levels. 

Students pursuing advanced education and a career either in the arts or other career paths are well-prepared for college, auditions, and professional presentations. 

We seek to instill enjoyment and appreciation for music and the arts, as well as cognitive and leadership skills for a lifetime.
